Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Assistant IT Manager to join our dynamic IT team. In this role, you will support the IT Manager in overseeing the daily operations of our IT department, ensuring the alignment of technology with business goals, and enhancing the overall efficiency of our IT systems. You will play a critical role in managing IT projects and supervising technical staff while fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Assist in managing IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and availability of systems and services
- Support the IT Manager in developing and implementing IT policies, procedures, and best practices
- Oversee and coordinate IT projects, ensuring timelines and budgets are met
- Collaborate with various departments to understand their technology needs and provide tailored solutions
- Monitor system performance and proactively address any issues to minimize downtime
- Manage vendor relationships and oversee procurement of IT hardware and software
- Lead a team of IT support staff, providing guidance and mentorship to promote professional development
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 3+ years of experience in IT management or a related field
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and cloud technologies
- Proven experience managing IT projects from inception to completion
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Experience with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and technologies
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- In-depth knowledge of Windows and Linux server environments
- Experience with network configuration, management, and troubleshooting
- Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Familiarity with database management systems (e.g., SQL, Oracle)
- Understanding of virtualization technologies, such as VMware or Hyper-V
