Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and visionary Chief of Interventional Radiology to lead our dynamic team in delivering advanced interventional procedures and enhancing patient care. This role will involve strategic leadership, collaborative decision-making, and the implementation of innovative techniques to optimize our interventional radiology services.
Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee the strategic direction of the Interventional Radiology department, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and patient care standards.
- Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of interventional radiologists, radiology technicians, and support staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
- Implement best practices in interventional radiology procedures, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and quality care.
- Collaborate with other medical specialties to integrate interventional radiology procedures into comprehensive patient treatment plans.
- Drive clinical research initiatives, contribute to peer-reviewed publications, and present findings at national conferences to advance the field of interventional radiology.
- Manage departmental budgets, resources, and performance metrics to ensure operational efficiency and financial sustainability.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree with board certification in Interventional Radiology.
- A minimum of 10 years of clinical experience in interventional radiology, with demonstrated leadership in a clinical setting.
- Proven track record in developing and implementing clinical protocols and quality improvement initiatives.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred:
- Experience with advanced imaging techniques and minimally invasive procedures.
- Prior leadership experience in a healthcare setting, including management of clinical staff and operational oversight.
- Active involvement in academic medicine and a commitment to teaching and training the next generation of radiologists.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in imaging modalities including CT, MRI, and ultrasound, with proficiency in their application for interventional procedures.
- Knowledge of advanced interventional techniques such as embolization, angioplasty, stenting, and tumor ablation.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems and data analytics for tracking performance and outcomes.
