Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Lead Inorganic Chemical Technician to oversee the synthesis and analysis of inorganic compounds. Responsibilities
- Lead the design, execution, and optimization of inorganic synthesis protocols to produce high-purity compounds
- Oversee the analysis of inorganic materials using techniques such as X-ray diffraction, electron microscopy, and spectroscopy
- Implement best practices in laboratory safety, quality control, and waste management to maintain a safe working environment
- Develop training programs for junior technicians to enhance their technical skills and promote career development
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to support research projects and product development initiatives
- Maintain accurate records of experimental procedures and results, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
- Continuously identify opportunities for process improvements and innovation in laboratory techniques
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in inorganic chemistry laboratories, with a focus on synthesis and characterization
- Proven ability to lead laboratory teams and projects with strong organizational skills
- Thorough understanding of laboratory safety protocols and regulatory compliance
Preferred:
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Chemistry or a related field
- Experience with advanced analytical techniques and instrumentation
- Track record of published research or patents in the field of inorganic chemistry
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in inorganic synthesis techniques, including sol-gel, hydrothermal, and solid-state methods
- Proficient in the operation of analytical instruments such as NMR, FTIR, and mass spectrometry
- Familiarity with laboratory management software and data analysis tools
