Role Overview
We are seeking a Principal Information Architect to lead the design and implementation of comprehensive information architectures that facilitate seamless data flow and user experience across our digital platforms. In this strategic role, you will leverage your extensive expertise to shape the architectural vision, ensuring alignment with business goals and user needs while driving innovation and best practices in information management.
Responsibilities
- Architect and design scalable information systems that support complex data structures, ensuring optimal performance and usability
- Develop and enforce data governance frameworks, ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance across all digital assets
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and refine data models, taxonomy, and metadata strategies
- Lead the evaluation and selection of information architecture tools and technologies, driving enhancements to the existing stack
- Conduct thorough analysis of user needs and behaviors to inform the design of intuitive interfaces and workflows
- Mentor and guide junior architects and team members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, bringing innovative ideas to the organization
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in information architecture, data management, or related fields
- Proven track record of leading complex information architecture projects from conception to deployment
- Strong understanding of data governance, information lifecycle management, and compliance standards
- Experience with data modeling, database design, and related tools (e.g., SQL, NoSQL)
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels
Preferred:
- Advanced degree in Information Science, Computer Science, or a related field
- Familiarity with cloud-based data solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure) and data integration technologies
- Experience with user experience (UX) research and design principles
- Certifications in data management or information architecture (e.g., CDMP, IGP) are a plus
