Role Overview
We are seeking a highly qualified Assistant Professor of Hydrodynamics to join our distinguished faculty in advancing research and education in fluid dynamics. This role involves developing innovative teaching methodologies and conducting groundbreaking research in hydrodynamics, contributing to the scholarly community and enhancing the educational experience of our students.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging undergraduate and graduate courses in hydrodynamics and related subjects, utilizing a variety of instructional techniques to foster student learning
- Develop and lead research projects addressing key challenges in fluid dynamics, securing funding through grants and collaborations
- Publish findings in reputable peer-reviewed journals and present research at national and international conferences
- Mentor and guide students, providing support in their academic and professional development
- Contribute to departmental and institutional service through committee work and outreach activities
- Maintain an active presence in the academic community by collaborating with other researchers and participating in relevant professional organizations
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field with a focus on hydrodynamics
- Demonstrated expertise in fluid mechanics and hydrodynamic modeling
- Experience in teaching at the university level, with a commitment to high-quality education
- Strong record of research publications and presentations in relevant fields
Preferred:
- Postdoctoral experience in hydrodynamics or a related area
- Demonstrated ability to secure research funding
- Experience with interdisciplinary research collaborations
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software, such as ANSYS Fluent or OpenFOAM
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and models
- Experience in experimental fluid dynamics and laboratory techniques
