Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Supervisor specializing in harvesting equipment to oversee the maintenance and repair operations within our organization. This role is critical in ensuring that all harvesting machinery is operating efficiently and effectively, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity during critical harvesting periods.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure optimal performance and adherence to safety standards.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for harvesting equipment to ensure reliability and longevity.
- Conduct regular inspections and assessments of equipment to identify and address potential issues before they escalate.
- Oversee the scheduling and execution of repairs, ensuring minimal disruption to harvesting operations.
- Collaborate with operations management to prioritize maintenance activities in line with production schedules.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inventory, and equipment condition.
- Train and mentor team members on best practices and safety protocols in equipment maintenance.
- Continuously evaluate and improve maintenance processes to enhance productivity and efficiency.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in maintenance supervision, specifically with harvesting or agricultural equipment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems related to harvesting machinery.
- Proven ability to lead a team and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on preventive maintenance.
Preferred:
- Technical certification in mechanical, electrical, or agricultural engineering.
- Experience with inventory management systems and maintenance software.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in agricultural equipment maintenance.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Experience with computer-based maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Knowledge of modern harvesting technologies and automated systems.
