Role Overview
We are looking for a Master Combine Mechanic to join our dedicated team. In this pivotal role, you will leverage your extensive experience to diagnose, repair, and maintain a range of combine harvester systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability during harvesting operations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive inspections and diagnostics on combine harvesters to identify mechanical and electrical issues
- Perform specialized repairs and maintenance on engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and electronic components
- Collaborate with the operations team to schedule maintenance activities that minimize downtime during peak harvest seasons
- Keep accurate records of repairs, maintenance tasks, and parts inventory using our service management software
- Mentor and train junior mechanics, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement
- Stay updated on the latest technologies and best practices in combine maintenance and repair
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Five or more years of hands-on experience in the maintenance and repair of agricultural machinery, specifically combine harvesters
- Strong understanding of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot issues efficiently
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various job sites as needed
Preferred:
- Certification in agricultural machinery repair or a related field
- Experience with precision agriculture technology and GPS systems
- Familiarity with OEM service manuals and electronic service tools
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Deep expertise in hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and engine diagnostics
- Experience with welding and fabrication techniques
- Proficient in using diagnostic software and tools specific to agricultural equipment
