Role Overview
We are looking for a Geospatial Manager to lead our geospatial initiatives and drive the strategic implementation of geospatial technologies across the organization. This role is crucial in enhancing our spatial analysis capabilities and delivering data-driven insights that influence decision-making processes. As a Geospatial Manager, you will oversee a diverse team of geospatial analysts and engineers, ensuring that our projects align with our mission and objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of geospatial projects that utilize GIS technologies to support various organizational functions
- Manage and mentor a team of geospatial analysts, fostering a culture of innovation and professional growth
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify geospatial needs and develop tailored solutions that meet those requirements
- Establish and enforce best practices for data collection, analysis, and visualization using geospatial tools and technologies
- Oversee the integration of geospatial data with other datasets to provide comprehensive insights and support organizational strategies
- Stay up-to-date with emerging geospatial technologies and methodologies, evaluating their potential impact and applicability to our projects
- Prepare and present findings and recommendations to stakeholders, translating complex geospatial information into actionable insights
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in geospatial analysis or related fields, with a focus on project management
- Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar platforms
- Experience with spatial data management, analysis, and visualization techniques
- Strong understanding of geospatial data standards and best practices
- Excellent project management skills, with a proven ability to lead and deliver projects on time and within budget
Preferred:
- Advanced degree in Geography, Geospatial Science, or a related field
- Experience with programming languages such as Python or R for geospatial data manipulation
- Familiarity with remote sensing technologies and applications
- Proven track record of innovative problem solving using geospatial analytics
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in GIS applications and geospatial data processing
- Familiarity with database management systems (e.g., PostGIS, SQL) for spatial data storage
- Experience with geospatial web services and APIs
- Knowledge of spatial statistics and modeling techniques
