Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Chief of Internal Medicine to lead our internal medicine department in delivering exceptional patient care and driving clinical excellence. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for strategic leadership, overseeing clinical operations, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in patient care.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic direction and leadership for the internal medicine department, aligning clinical practices with organizational goals and values.
- Develop and implement evidence-based clinical protocols and guidelines to enhance patient safety and quality of care.
- Foster a collaborative and multidisciplinary approach to patient care, ensuring effective communication among healthcare teams.
- Oversee departmental budgeting, resource allocation, and performance metrics to drive operational efficiency.
- Lead recruitment, training, and development initiatives to build a high-performing team of internal medicine professionals.
- Engage in clinical practice as needed, maintaining direct patient care responsibilities while leading the team.
- Stay abreast of advancements in internal medicine and ensure the department's practices reflect the latest evidence-based research.
- Represent the department in organizational committees and external partnerships to advocate for internal medicine and patient-centered care.
Required Qualifications
- MD or DO degree with board certification in Internal Medicine.
- 10+ years of clinical experience in internal medicine, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of driving clinical excellence and improving patient outcomes.
- Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, compliance, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a fully remote or telehealth environment.
- Fellowship training in a subspecialty of internal medicine.
- Demonstrated expertise in healthcare administration and strategic planning.
