Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Forensic Engineer to join our team, where you will leverage your deep expertise in forensic analysis and engineering to investigate and provide insights into complex incidents. In this pivotal role, you will lead investigations, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and develop innovative solutions to support our clients in their pursuit of truth and justice.
Responsibilities
- Lead forensic investigations involving digital evidence, physical artifacts, and other relevant data to reconstruct events and establish timelines.
- Collaborate with legal teams, law enforcement, and clients to provide expert testimony and present findings in a clear and concise manner.
- Develop and implement methodologies for evidence collection, preservation, and analysis to ensure the integrity of findings.
- Mentor and guide junior forensic engineers in best practices and investigative techniques.
- Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in forensic engineering, digital forensics, and data analysis.
- Produce detailed reports and documentation of investigative processes and findings, adhering to industry standards.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in forensic engineering or a related field, with a proven track record of complex investigations.
- Strong understanding of digital forensics, incident response, and evidence handling.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically under pressure.
Preferred:
- Professional certification in forensic engineering (e.g., CFE, CFCE).
- Experience with data recovery, network forensics, and cybersecurity investigations.
- Familiarity with legal standards for evidence and court procedures.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in forensic tools such as EnCase, FTK, or similar software.
- Experience with data analysis tools and programming languages, including Python or SQL.
- Understanding of cloud computing, IoT devices, and their implications for forensic investigations.
