Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and experienced Chief Fire Safety Officer to lead our fire safety initiatives and ensure compliance with all fire safety regulations and best practices. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining fire safety management systems that protect our facilities, personnel, and assets.
Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee the implementation of fire safety policies, procedures, and training programs across the organization
- Conduct comprehensive fire risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures
- Lead fire drills and emergency response training to ensure preparedness and compliance with safety regulations
- Act as a subject matter expert and provide guidance on fire safety regulations, codes, and standards
- Collaborate with facility management and emergency services to enhance fire prevention strategies and response plans
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to fire safety compliance and incidents
- Manage fire safety inspections and investigations, ensuring timely resolution of issues
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in fire safety management or a related field
- Extensive knowledge of local, state, and federal fire safety regulations and standards
- Proven track record of developing and implementing effective fire safety programs
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
Preferred:
- Professional certification in fire safety (e.g., Certified Fire Protection Specialist, Fire Officer certification)
- Experience in a corporate or industrial environment
- Familiarity with building codes and construction practices
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in fire safety software and systems management
- Understanding of fire alarm systems, suppression systems, and emergency response technologies
- Experience with data analysis and reporting tools for safety metrics
