Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Fire Investigator to lead our investigations team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee complex fire investigation processes, ensuring thorough analysis and reporting of incidents to prevent future occurrences. Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all fire investigations, coordinating with local law enforcement and fire departments to gather evidence and conduct interviews.
- Develop and implement best practices for fire scene investigation, ensuring compliance with industry standards and legal requirements.
- Analyze fire patterns and causes using advanced investigative techniques, including forensic science and data analysis.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations detailing findings, recommendations, and preventative measures for stakeholders.
- Provide expert testimony in court as needed, articulating complex technical information clearly and concisely.
- Train and mentor junior investigators, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the team.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in fire investigation or a related field, with a proven track record of leading complex investigations.
- Extensive knowledge of fire dynamics, investigation techniques, and relevant laws and regulations.
- Certification from a recognized fire investigation organization (e.g., IAAI, NFPA).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights.
Preferred:
- Master's degree in Fire Science, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
- Experience with advanced investigative technologies, such as thermal imaging and analytical software.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external agencies.
