Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Battalion Fire Chief to lead and coordinate fire suppression, rescue, and emergency response operations within our organization. This leadership role requires a strong commitment to safety and community service, ensuring that our team delivers the highest level of emergency response while fostering a culture of training and professional development.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of fire operations, including fire suppression, rescue, and emergency medical services
- Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and training programs to ensure compliance with safety standards
- Lead and mentor fire personnel, conducting performance evaluations and providing guidance for career advancement
- Manage emergency response incidents, coordinating with multiple agencies and stakeholders to ensure effective resolution
- Conduct fire investigations to determine cause and origin, working collaboratively with law enforcement and other agencies
- Evaluate and maintain equipment and resources to ensure operational readiness and effectiveness
- Prepare and present reports on incident response, training programs, and operational performance to senior management
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in fire service, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Demonstrated knowledge of fire suppression techniques, emergency medical services, and rescue operations
- Strong understanding of fire codes, regulations, and safety standards
- Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team in high-stress situations
Preferred:
- Fire Officer certification or equivalent
- Experience in community risk reduction and public education programs
- Advanced training in incident command and emergency management
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in the use of fire service equipment, tools, and technology
- Experience with fire reporting and incident management software
- Knowledge of emergency response planning and hazard mitigation strategies
