Role Overview
We are seeking a Field Test Engineering Manager who will play a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating field testing programs for our innovative products. You will be responsible for ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and performance in real-world conditions, leading a team of engineers to execute comprehensive testing strategies.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and analysis of field testing activities to validate product performance under various conditions
- Manage a team of field test engineers, providing guidance and mentorship to drive professional growth and team effectiveness
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, product management, and manufacturing, to align testing objectives with product development goals
- Develop and implement testing protocols, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
- Analyze test results and provide actionable insights to stakeholders, facilitating data-driven decision-making for product improvements
- Establish and maintain relationships with external testing partners, ensuring effective communication and collaboration
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field
- 5+ years of experience in field testing or product validation, with a track record of successful project management
- Strong understanding of testing methodologies and performance metrics
- Proficient in data analysis tools and techniques, with the ability to interpret complex data sets
- Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Preferred:
- Master's degree in Engineering or related discipline
- Experience in the development and testing of consumer electronics or similar products
- Familiarity with statistical analysis and design of experiments (DoE)
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in data analysis software (e.g., MATLAB, Python, R) and testing tools
- Knowledge of product lifecycle management (PLM) tools and methodologies
- Experience with project management software (e.g., JIRA, Asana) to track progress and facilitate collaboration
