Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Fiberglass Boat Building Supervisor to lead our dedicated team in the production of high-quality fiberglass vessels. This role is crucial in ensuring that our manufacturing processes meet the highest standards of craftsmanship and efficiency, while also fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the fiberglass boat building team, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards.
- Implement best practices in fiberglass lamination, molding, and finishing techniques to optimize production efficiency.
- Conduct regular inspections of completed boats to ensure compliance with quality assurance protocols and specifications.
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to address any technical challenges and contribute to product enhancements.
- Provide training and mentorship to team members, promoting skill development and knowledge sharing within the workforce.
- Monitor inventory levels of materials and supplies, coordinating with procurement to ensure timely availability for production needs.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Proven experience (5+ years) in fiberglass boat building or a related field, with a strong understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and experience managing a team in a production environment.
- In-depth knowledge of fiberglass materials and their applications in boat construction.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail to ensure high-quality outputs.
Preferred:
- Experience with advanced boat-building technologies and methodologies.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and quality control measures specific to the marine industry.
- Certifications related to boat building or manufacturing processes.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in fiberglass fabrication techniques, including lamination, gel coating, and finishing.
- Familiarity with woodworking and metalworking tools and techniques used in boat construction.
- Experience with CAD software for design and layout planning.
