Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced AV Technician Supervisor to lead our remote audiovisual team in delivering high-quality media production and event services. In this role, you will oversee the installation, maintenance, and operation of AV equipment while ensuring best practices for audio and visual standards are met across various projects. Your leadership will be essential in fostering a culture of excellence and innovation in the audiovisual space.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor a team of AV technicians, providing guidance on technical operations, troubleshooting, and equipment handling
- Lead the planning and execution of audiovisual setups for virtual events, conferences, and presentations, ensuring seamless integration with digital platforms
- Establish and enforce standard operating procedures for AV equipment usage and maintenance
- Collaborate with event planners, producers, and technical staff to ensure all AV requirements are met and executed to the highest standards
- Conduct regular training sessions on new AV technologies and techniques to enhance team skill sets and service offerings
- Manage inventory of AV equipment and coordinate repairs or upgrades as necessary
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in audiovisual technology, with a strong background in event production
- Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role within an AV environment
- Comprehensive understanding of AV equipment, including sound systems, lighting, video cameras, and streaming technology
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues in real-time during live events
Preferred:
- Technical certifications from recognized AV organizations (e.g., CTS, CTS-I, CTS-D)
- Experience with video conferencing platforms and remote collaboration tools
- Familiarity with current trends in audiovisual technology and their applications in remote settings
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise with audio mixing consoles, video switchers, and projection systems
- Proficiency in AV software tools, such as QLab, OBS Studio, or vMix
- Experience with networked AV systems and streaming protocols (RTMP, NDI, etc.)
