Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Video Equipment Technician to oversee the operational integrity of our video production equipment in a fully remote capacity. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of sophisticated video technologies, ensuring seamless execution of high-quality video productions that align with our innovative brand vision.
Responsibilities
- Lead the setup, configuration, and maintenance of video production equipment, including cameras, lighting, and audio systems for various projects.
- Develop and enforce best practices for equipment handling, storage, and maintenance to ensure the longevity and reliability of all video gear.
- Conduct thorough assessments of equipment performance and troubleshoot technical issues in a timely manner, minimizing downtime during productions.
- Collaborate with production teams to determine equipment needs and provide technical guidance on video production processes.
- Train and mentor junior technicians on equipment operation, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols.
- Stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies, recommending upgrades or new equipment purchases as necessary to enhance production quality.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in video production or related fields, with a strong focus on equipment management and technical proficiency.
- Extensive knowledge of various video production equipment, including cameras, lighting systems, audio recording devices, and editing software.
- Proven track record of troubleshooting and resolving equipment issues under tight deadlines.
- Excellent organizational skills and an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred:
- Experience with digital streaming technologies and remote production workflows.
- Familiarity with video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar.
- Certifications in video production or related technology fields.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in the use of professional video cameras, lighting, and sound equipment.
- Strong understanding of video signal flow and production pipelines.
- Experience with video encoding, compression, and streaming technologies.
