Role Overview
We are seeking an Environmental Geology Manager to lead our team in addressing complex geological challenges while promoting sustainable practices. In this role, you will leverage your expertise to manage projects that assess environmental impacts, facilitate remediation efforts, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee environmental geology projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets
- Conduct detailed geological assessments and interpret data to advise on site characterization and environmental impact
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, scientists, and regulatory agencies, to develop comprehensive remediation strategies
- Manage stakeholder relationships, effectively communicating project objectives and results to clients and regulatory bodies
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards, staying updated on changes in legislation
- Mentor and develop junior geologists, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth
- Contribute to business development efforts by preparing proposals and participating in client presentations
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in environmental geology or a related discipline, with a strong understanding of geological assessment methodologies
- Proven track record in project management and leading geological investigations
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance standards
Preferred:
- Professional Geologist (PG) certification or equivalent
- Experience in stakeholder engagement and managing multidisciplinary teams
- Familiarity with GIS software and other geological modeling tools
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in geological mapping, soil sampling, and groundwater analysis
- Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation, with experience using software such as ArcGIS or similar
- Understanding of site remediation technologies and environmental assessment techniques
