Role Overview
We are looking for a Lead Electric Wheelchair Repair Specialist to join our dedicated team, responsible for ensuring mobility and independence for our clients. In this fully remote role, you will leverage your extensive knowledge in electrical systems and wheelchair mechanics to lead repair operations, enhance service quality, and mentor junior technicians.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the diagnosis and repair of electric wheelchairs, ensuring all repairs meet industry standards and client expectations
- Lead a team of technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to enhance their technical skills and problem-solving abilities
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for repair processes, ensuring efficiency and consistency
- Collaborate with product manufacturers to troubleshoot complex electrical issues and escalate when necessary
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, including parts used, time spent, and client feedback to identify areas for improvement
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in wheelchair technology to provide the best service possible
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in the repair and maintenance of electric wheelchairs or similar mobility devices
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, motors, and batteries
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and train team members
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Preferred:
- Certification in wheelchair repair or relevant technical qualifications
- Experience working with various brands of electric wheelchairs
- Knowledge of assistive technology and accessibility standards
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment for electric wheelchair repairs
- Familiarity with electrical schematics and repair manuals
- Experience with inventory management systems to track parts and supplies
