Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Head Baker to lead our baking team in crafting exceptional baked goods that align with our unique brand identity and culinary vision. In this role, you will oversee the entire baking process, from recipe development to production, ensuring high quality and consistency while innovating new offerings that delight our customers.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and refine a diverse range of baked goods, including breads, pastries, and specialty items that reflect our brand's identity.
- Lead and mentor a team of bakers, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment that encourages creativity and skill development.
- Manage inventory, sourcing high-quality ingredients and maintaining strict adherence to food safety and hygiene standards.
- Implement and optimize baking processes and techniques to enhance efficiency and product quality.
- Conduct regular quality control assessments to ensure all baked goods meet our standards for taste, texture, and presentation.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing and sales, to align product offerings with customer trends and preferences.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of professional baking experience, with a strong focus on artisan breads and pastries.
- Proven leadership experience in a bakery or culinary environment, with a track record of managing a team effectively.
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment.
- Ability to create unique and innovative recipes that align with our brand.
Preferred:
- Culinary degree or formal training in baking and pastry arts.
- Experience with large-scale production and managing inventory.
- Familiarity with dietary restrictions and alternative baking methods (gluten-free, vegan, etc.).
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in a variety of baking methods and techniques, including fermentation, proofing, and decorating.
- Proficient in using kitchen equipment, including mixers, ovens, and proofing cabinets.
- Experience with inventory management software and food safety compliance.
