Role Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled and creative Executive Pastry Chef to lead our pastry department and elevate our culinary offerings. In this fully remote role, you will have the opportunity to innovate and design unique pastry concepts while managing a team of talented pastry chefs to ensure exceptional quality and presentation of our desserts and baked goods.
Responsibilities
- Design and create innovative pastry menus that reflect our brand's vision and meet customer expectations
- Oversee all aspects of the pastry kitchen, including inventory management, equipment maintenance, and ingredient sourcing
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of pastry chefs, fostering a culture of creativity, teamwork, and excellence
- Implement and uphold high standards of food safety, sanitation, and quality control throughout all pastry operations
- Collaborate with other culinary departments to ensure seamless service and menu integration
- Stay current with industry trends, techniques, and equipment to continually enhance our pastry offerings
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in a professional pastry kitchen, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
- Extensive knowledge of pastry techniques, ingredients, and presentation
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Proven ability to develop and execute innovative dessert concepts
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications
- Culinary degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience
- Experience working with high-volume production and catering services
- Knowledge of dietary restrictions and experience in creating inclusive menu options
- Strong communication skills and the ability to inspire and lead a diverse team
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in pastry software for recipe development and cost analysis
- Experience with modern pastry techniques, including molecular gastronomy, and chocolate work
- Familiarity with kitchen management software and inventory tracking systems
