Role Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Lead Disc Recordist to join our innovative audio production team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the recording and mixing processes for a variety of projects, ensuring the highest standards of sound quality and creative integrity. You will collaborate with artists, producers, and engineers to create immersive audio experiences that resonate with audiences.
Responsibilities
- Lead the recording sessions from pre-production through final mixes, ensuring the technical and artistic vision is met
- Supervise and mentor junior recordists and audio engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and creativity
- Collaborate with artists and producers to capture their vision accurately while providing innovative suggestions
- Utilize advanced audio technology and techniques to achieve superior sound quality and fidelity
- Manage the workflow of recording sessions, including scheduling, equipment setup, and troubleshooting
- Conduct thorough quality checks on all recordings and mixes, providing constructive feedback to team members
- Stay updated with industry trends and technologies, integrating new techniques into the workflow
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in audio recording and production, with a portfolio showcasing diverse projects
- Deep expertise in digital audio workstation (DAW) software, including Pro Tools, Logic Pro, or equivalent
- Strong understanding of acoustics, microphone placement, and sound design principles
- Proven leadership skills and experience managing recording sessions
Preferred:
- Experience working with a variety of music genres and audio formats
- Familiarity with audio post-production for film and multimedia projects
- Knowledge of mixing and mastering techniques, particularly in a collaborative studio environment
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in audio recording equipment and software
- Experience with MIDI and virtual instruments
- Understanding of audio signal flow and production chain
- Familiarity with plugins and sound libraries
