Role Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and passionate Diabetes Education Program Coordinator to lead and manage our diabetes education initiatives. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive diabetes education programs that empower participants to manage their condition effectively and improve their overall health outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement diabetes education programs tailored to the needs of diverse populations, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity.
- Coordinate and facilitate educational workshops, seminars, and support groups, providing participants with evidence-based information on diabetes management.
- Evaluate program effectiveness through participant feedback, assessments, and outcome measures, making adjustments as necessary to enhance program impact.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, community organizations, and stakeholders to promote diabetes awareness and education initiatives.
- Manage program budget, resources, and logistics to ensure efficient and effective program delivery.
- Maintain accurate records of participant data, program activities, and outcomes, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
- Stay current with diabetes research, best practices, and policy changes to inform program development and delivery.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Nursing, Nutrition, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in diabetes education, health education, or program coordination.
- Certification as a Diabetes Educator (CDE) or willingness to obtain certification within a specified timeframe.
- Strong understanding of diabetes management principles, educational methodologies, and behavior change strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate diverse audiences.
Preferred:
- Master's degree in Public Health, Nursing, or a related field.
- Experience working with underserved populations and knowledge of community resources.
- Proficiency in data analysis and program evaluation techniques.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and program management software.
- Experience utilizing data management systems for tracking and reporting program outcomes.
- Familiarity with telehealth technologies and virtual education platforms.
