Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Managing Partner to lead our defense attorney practice. In this role, you will leverage your extensive legal expertise and leadership skills to drive the firm’s vision, enhance client relationships, and ensure the highest standards of legal representation. Your role will be instrumental in shaping the firm’s strategic direction while mentoring and guiding our legal team.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the defense attorney practice, setting strategic goals and ensuring alignment with the firm’s overall mission.
- Oversee and mentor a team of attorneys, providing guidance on complex legal issues and ensuring the delivery of effective defense strategies.
- Foster strong client relationships and serve as the primary point of contact for high-profile cases, ensuring client satisfaction and successful outcomes.
- Develop and implement best practices for case management, legal research, and trial preparation to optimize team performance.
- Drive business development initiatives, identifying opportunities for growth and expansion of the firm’s client base.
- Stay abreast of legal developments and trends in defense law to inform strategic decision-making and maintain the firm’s competitive edge.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and admission to the bar in at least one jurisdiction.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in defense law, with a proven track record of managing complex cases and leading legal teams.
- Strong understanding of trial procedures and litigation strategies, with a successful history of courtroom representation.
- Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
Preferred:
- Experience in a partnership or leadership role within a law firm.
- Established network of relationships within the legal and business community.
- Public speaking experience and a demonstrated ability to represent the firm in professional settings.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in legal research tools and case management software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative legal strategies.
- Expertise in legal writing and documentation, including briefs, motions, and pleadings.
