Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Harvest Supervisor to lead and oversee all aspects of our harvest operations. This role is crucial in ensuring that our harvesting processes are efficient, sustainable, and aligned with best practices in agricultural management. You will be responsible for coordinating teams, optimizing workflows, and implementing strategies to maximize yield while adhering to safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all harvesting activities, ensuring adherence to operational plans and schedules
- Manage a diverse team of harvest workers, providing guidance and training to enhance productivity and performance
- Monitor crop health and assess readiness for harvest, determining optimal timing and methods
- Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all team members
- Collaborate with agronomy and logistics teams to optimize harvest processes and minimize waste
- Maintain accurate records of harvesting operations, including yields, labor hours, and equipment usage
- Continuously evaluate and improve harvesting techniques and processes to enhance efficiency and sustainability
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in agricultural operations, with a focus on harvest management
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing teams in a field environment
- Strong knowledge of crop production practices and harvesting techniques
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, or a related field
- Experience with precision agriculture technologies and data analysis
- Familiarity with sustainability practices in crop production
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in using farm management software and technology
- Understanding of machinery used in harvesting operations, including maintenance practices
- Experience with data collection and analysis to inform operational decisions
