Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Communicable Disease Control to lead our initiatives in public health management and disease prevention. This critical role will oversee the development and implementation of innovative strategies to minimize the impact of communicable diseases, leveraging data-driven insights and cross-functional collaboration to enhance community health outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive public health programs aimed at preventing and controlling communicable diseases across diverse populations.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, government agencies, and community organizations to implement effective disease surveillance and response strategies.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team in conducting epidemiological assessments, risk analyses, and the evaluation of public health interventions.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding disease control practices and reporting.
- Engage in strategic planning and policy development to address emerging public health challenges and improve overall health equity.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation through mentorship and professional development of team members.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in public health management, with a focus on communicable diseases.
- Proven track record of leading large-scale public health initiatives and managing diverse teams.
- Exceptional analytical skills with experience in epidemiological research and data interpretation.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities, particularly in conveying complex public health information to diverse audiences.
Preferred:
- Doctorate in a relevant field.
- Experience working in governmental health agencies or international health organizations.
- Familiarity with global health issues and disease prevention strategies.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and statistical software (e.g., SAS, R, SPSS).
- Experience with health informatics and disease surveillance systems.
- Knowledge of epidemiological modeling and geographic information systems (GIS).
