Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Director of Epidemiology to lead our epidemiological research initiatives. In this pivotal role, you will drive the strategic direction of epidemiological studies, ensuring robust data collection and analysis to inform public health decisions and interventions. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive epidemiological research strategy aligned with the organization’s mission and objectives.
- Oversee the design, execution, and analysis of epidemiological studies, including observational and interventional research.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team of epidemiologists, biostatisticians, and data scientists, promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Engage with external stakeholders, including public health agencies, academic institutions, and non-profit organizations, to foster partnerships and disseminate findings.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of public health interventions and policies, providing actionable insights for continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with ethical standards and regulatory requirements in all research activities.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- PhD in Epidemiology, Public Health, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in epidemiological research, with a proven track record of leading complex studies.
- Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals and experience in grant writing.
- Expertise in statistical analysis software (e.g., SAS, R, Stata) and data management techniques.
Preferred:
- Experience in infectious disease epidemiology or chronic disease epidemiology.
- Knowledge of health policy and the ability to translate research findings into policy recommendations.
- Demonstrated experience in mentoring and developing junior researchers.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Deep expertise in epidemiological study design and biostatistics.
- Proficiency in geographic information systems (GIS) for spatial analysis of health data.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to present findings effectively.
