Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and experienced Deputy Commissioner of Internal Revenue to lead our tax administration initiatives and drive policy implementation in alignment with our mission of ensuring compliance and enhancing taxpayer services. Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership in the development and implementation of tax policies that promote compliance and enhance taxpayer services.
- Oversee the administration of tax laws, ensuring effective enforcement and equitable treatment of all taxpayers.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to identify and leverage technology solutions that improve operational efficiency and taxpayer experience.
- Engage with various stakeholders, including government agencies, tax professionals, and the public, to communicate initiatives and gather feedback.
- Analyze and assess emerging trends and issues in tax administration, proposing innovative solutions to enhance operational effectiveness.
- Lead a team of professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in Public Administration, Finance, Law, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in tax administration or public finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- In-depth knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations.
- Proven track record of strategic planning and policy development in a complex regulatory environment.
Preferred:
- Experience working with governmental agencies and stakeholder engagement.
- Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale change initiatives within an organization.
- Advanced certifications in tax law or public administration.
