Role Overview
We are seeking a forward-thinking Library Services Manager to lead our library's strategic initiatives, enhance user experiences, and oversee a team dedicated to providing exceptional library services. In this role, you will champion the integration of technology within library operations, ensuring that our patrons have access to the resources and support they need to thrive.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement innovative library programs and services that meet the evolving needs of our community
- Oversee daily operations of the library, ensuring efficient service delivery, resource management, and adherence to policies
- Lead, mentor, and develop library staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, professional growth, and commitment to service excellence
- Conduct assessments of library services and resources, utilizing feedback to enhance user engagement and satisfaction
- Manage budgets, grants, and funding opportunities to support library initiatives and operational goals
- Collaborate with local organizations and stakeholders to promote library services and outreach programs
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master’s degree in Library Science or a related field from an ALA-accredited institution
- 5+ years of progressive experience in library services, with at least 2 years in a management or supervisory role
- Strong understanding of current trends in library science, technology, and information management
- Proven ability to develop and implement strategic plans that align with organizational goals
Preferred:
- Experience with digital library platforms and emerging technologies
- Demonstrated success in community engagement and partnership development
- Familiarity with grant writing and fundraising initiatives
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in library management systems (LMS) and integrated library systems (ILS)
- Experience with digital asset management and content management systems
- Knowledge of data analytics tools to assess service impact and user engagement
