Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Chemical Operations Supervisor to lead our production team and ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of our chemical manufacturing processes. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, implementing best practices, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and safety.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily operations within the chemical manufacturing facility, ensuring adherence to safety standards and regulatory compliance.
- Manage a team of operators, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to foster a high-performance culture.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to optimize production efficiency while maintaining quality standards.
- Monitor production metrics and analyze operational data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality assurance, and maintenance, to enhance operational processes and resolve technical issues.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and promote sustainability initiatives within the operations.
- Lead safety meetings and training sessions to promote a culture of safety and ensure all staff are aware of safety protocols.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing operations, with supervisory experience strongly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of chemical processes, safety regulations, and best practices in manufacturing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Preferred:
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Certification in Hazardous Materials Management or Process Safety Management.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to drive team performance and engagement.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in process control systems and manufacturing software.
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment and chemical analysis techniques.
- Understanding of environmental compliance and safety management systems.
