Role Overview
We are seeking an innovative and experienced Culinary Director to lead our culinary team in the creation and execution of exceptional dining experiences. In this fully remote role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining a culinary vision that aligns with our brand identity while ensuring the highest standards of quality, creativity, and sustainability in our food offerings.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement a dynamic culinary strategy that reflects our brand ethos and meets the diverse needs of our clientele.
- Oversee menu development, focusing on seasonal ingredients, nutritional balance, and unique flavor profiles to enhance guest satisfaction.
- Manage and mentor culinary staff, fostering a culture of creativity, excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Establish and monitor food production processes to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing and operations, to create innovative culinary experiences and promotional initiatives.
- Conduct regular evaluations of culinary programs and offerings, utilizing guest feedback to drive enhancements and innovation.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in culinary arts, with a proven track record in leadership roles within high-volume, multi-concept environments.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, menu development, and culinary trends.
- Exceptional palate and creativity, with the ability to craft unique and memorable dishes.
- Demonstrated experience in managing budgets, costs, and inventory effectively.
Preferred:
- Culinary degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
- Experience with plant-based and sustainable cooking methods.
- Strong network within the culinary community and familiarity with current food trends.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in kitchen management software and menu planning tools.
- Knowledge of food sourcing and procurement practices, including local and sustainable options.
- Familiarity with food photography and presentation techniques to promote culinary offerings through digital channels.
