Role Overview
As the Lead Cheese Weigher, you will play a critical role in overseeing the cheese weighing process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with quality standards. This position balances leadership responsibilities with hands-on tasks in a hybrid work environment, where you will be expected to be on-site for critical operations while also engaging in remote planning and coordination.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the cheese weighing team, ensuring adherence to protocols and best practices.
- Oversee the weighing process to ensure precision and compliance with industry standards.
- Implement and maintain quality control measures to uphold product integrity.
- Collaborate with production teams to streamline operations and optimize workflow.
- Conduct regular training sessions for team members on weighing techniques and safety procedures.
- Analyze weighing data and prepare reports for management review to identify improvements.
- Participate in cross-departmental initiatives to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in a food production or quality assurance role, specifically in dairy or cheese production.
- Strong understanding of weighing processes and quality control methodologies.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively.
Preferred:
- Experience in a lead or supervisory role within a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and compliance standards.
- Certification in quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) or HACCP.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in using digital scales and measurement tools.
- Familiarity with data analysis tools to track and report on weighing metrics.
