Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Bridge Inspection Supervisor to lead our team in ensuring the safety and integrity of bridge structures. In this critical role, you will oversee inspection operations, manage field staff, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards while fostering a culture of safety and excellence.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate on-site bridge inspection activities, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and industry standards.
- Conduct comprehensive inspections of bridge structures, identifying potential issues and assessing the structural integrity of components.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports, documenting findings and providing recommendations for maintenance or repair actions.
- Develop and implement inspection procedures and protocols to enhance operational efficiency and safety.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate field staff, promoting professional development and adherence to best practices.
- Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to address identified structural concerns and recommend necessary repairs or enhancements.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations, emerging technologies, and best practices in bridge inspection methodologies.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in bridge inspection, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations governing bridge inspections.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
Preferred:
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
- Experience with advanced inspection technologies such as drones, ultrasonic testing, or other non-destructive testing methods.
- Familiarity with asset management systems and software used in the inspection and maintenance of transportation infrastructure.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in inspection tools and equipment, including digital imaging and data collection technologies.
- Experience with structural analysis software and bridge rating systems.
- Understanding of load rating methodologies and structural design principles.
