Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Book Sorting Supervisor to oversee the efficient and accurate sorting of books in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. In this role, you will lead a team responsible for organizing and managing the flow of incoming and outgoing book inventory, ensuring that all processes meet organizational standards and timelines.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily sorting operations, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols
- Train, mentor, and evaluate sorting team members, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement
- Implement and maintain effective book sorting procedures to optimize inventory management
- Monitor sorting accuracy and productivity metrics, providing regular feedback and implementing corrective actions as necessary
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and address any inventory discrepancies
- Conduct regular inspections of sorted inventory to uphold quality standards and rectify any sorting errors
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 2+ years of experience in a supervisory or team lead role in a warehouse or sorting environment
- Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred:
- Experience with inventory management systems and data entry
- Familiarity with book genres and categories to enhance sorting accuracy
- Experience in a hybrid work environment
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for tracking inventory metrics
- Experience with warehouse management software or similar inventory systems
- Basic understanding of data analysis and reporting tools
