Role Overview
We are seeking a distinguished scholar to assume the role of Endowed Chair in Biostatistics, a position that combines exceptional research leadership with the opportunity to influence the next generation of biostatisticians. This role is critical in advancing research methodologies and statistical techniques that drive innovation in public health, clinical trials, and epidemiological studies.
Responsibilities
- Lead and collaborate on interdisciplinary research projects that apply advanced biostatistical methods to complex health data
- Develop and implement innovative statistical models and methodologies to address pressing health issues
- Mentor graduate students and junior faculty, fostering a culture of academic excellence and collaboration
- Secure external funding through grant proposals, contributing to the growth and sustainability of the department
- Publish high-impact research in peer-reviewed journals and present findings at national and international conferences
- Engage with community partners to translate research findings into practice, enhancing public health initiatives
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Ph.D. in Biostatistics, Statistics, or a closely related field
- A proven track record of impactful research and publications in top-tier journals
- Significant experience in leading funded research projects in biostatistics or related areas
- Demonstrated expertise in statistical programming languages such as R, SAS, or Python
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines
Preferred:
- Experience in teaching graduate-level courses in biostatistics or related disciplines
- Established network within the biostatistics and public health research community
- Experience with clinical trial design and analysis, health services research, or epidemiology
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in advanced statistical methodologies and data analysis techniques
- Proficiency in statistical software and data visualization tools
