Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled and passionate Shop Manager (Bike Mechanic) to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our fully remote bike shop, ensuring exceptional service quality while fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence. You will lead a team of dedicated mechanics, guiding them in providing outstanding bike repair and maintenance services to our customers.
Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate all shop operations, including scheduling, workflow optimization, and inventory management
- Supervise and mentor a team of bike mechanics, providing ongoing training and support to enhance their technical skills
- Ensure high standards of customer service and satisfaction through effective communication and problem-solving
- Develop and implement shop policies and procedures to streamline operations and improve service delivery
- Monitor and analyze performance metrics to drive continuous improvement initiatives within the shop
- Collaborate with external vendors and suppliers to maintain inventory levels and negotiate favorable terms
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 3+ years of experience in bike mechanics and repair, with a strong understanding of various bike models and components
- Proven leadership experience, with an ability to motivate and develop a team
- Excellent customer service skills and a passion for cycling
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities
Preferred:
- Experience in a managerial or supervisory role within a bike shop or similar environment
- Knowledge of e-commerce platforms and remote customer service best practices
- Certifications from recognized bike mechanic training programs
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in bike repair tools and equipment, with a focus on best practices for safety and efficiency
