Role Overview
We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Junior Arborist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will assist in the management and care of trees and other vegetation, contributing to the overall health and sustainability of urban landscapes. Your work will primarily focus on field assessments, data collection, and supporting senior arborists in tree maintenance and health evaluations.
Responsibilities
- Assist in conducting tree assessments and health evaluations, gathering data on tree conditions and environmental factors.
- Support senior arborists in developing management plans for tree care and maintenance.
- Participate in the execution of tree planting, pruning, and removal operations following safety protocols.
- Document field observations and maintain accurate records of tree care activities.
- Engage with clients and stakeholders to provide information and education on tree care practices.
- Stay current with industry best practices and trends in arboriculture.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Associate's degree in Arboriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of tree species, growth patterns, and common tree diseases.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to the arboriculture industry.
Preferred:
- Experience in fieldwork related to tree care or landscaping.
- Certifications such as ISA Certified Arborist or Tree Care Industry Association certifications are a plus.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Familiarity with tree health assessment tools and techniques.
- Basic understanding of soil health and its impact on tree growth.
- Experience with GIS software for mapping tree locations and conditions is a plus.
