Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced and strategic Director of Aircraft Maintenance to lead our maintenance operations and ensure the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. In this role, you will oversee the maintenance and repair of our fleet while driving innovation and best practices across the organization. Your expertise will be critical in developing a proactive maintenance culture that aligns with our commitment to operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies that align with regulatory requirements and industry best practices to ensure fleet safety and reliability.
- Lead and mentor a team of maintenance professionals, promoting a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development.
- Oversee the preparation and management of maintenance budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations without compromising quality or safety.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering and operations, to ensure seamless integration of maintenance schedules with operational needs.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of maintenance facilities and processes to ensure compliance with FAA regulations and company policies.
- Implement and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor maintenance efficiency and effectiveness, driving data-driven decisions.
- Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and external auditors regarding maintenance operations.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in aircraft maintenance management, with a strong understanding of FAA regulations and safety standards.
- Proven leadership experience in a maintenance environment, with a track record of managing diverse teams and driving performance improvement.
- Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to act decisively in complex situations.
Preferred:
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience with maintenance tracking software and data analysis tools.
- Previous experience working in a fully remote leadership role.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in aircraft maintenance practices and procedures, including airframe and powerplant systems.
- Proficiency in maintenance management systems and software tools.
- Strong understanding of safety management systems (SMS) in aviation.
