We are seeking a distinguished scholar for the position of Endowed Chair in African History. Responsibilities

- Organize and participate in seminars, workshops, and conferences that enhance scholarly discourse
- Contribute to departmental and university service through committee work and outreach programs
- Engage with local and global communities to promote the relevance of African history in contemporary society
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Ph.D. in History with a specialization in African history
- Demonstrated record of scholarly excellence, including publications in top-tier academic journals
- Experience in curriculum development and innovative teaching practices
Preferred:
- Experience securing research funding from external sources
- Active involvement in academic and community outreach initiatives
- Proficiency in multiple languages relevant to African studies
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in archival research methodologies and historiographical analysis
- Familiarity with digital humanities tools and platforms for historical research and pedagogy
- Ability to integrate technology into teaching and research
