Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented Assistant Accounting Manager to join our finance team. In this role, you will support the accounting operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations while playing a vital part in financial reporting and analysis.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing financial statements in accordance with GAAP, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations
- Collaborate with the accounting team to implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring prompt and accurate processing
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing variance analysis and insights
- Coordinate with external auditors during the annual audit process and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Mentor and train junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a supervisory or lead role
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, and regulations
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail
Preferred:
- CPA or CMA certification is a plus
- Experience in a fast-paced or high-growth environment
- Knowledge of financial modeling and forecasting techniques
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in accounting software and ERP systems
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP
- Familiarity with financial reporting tools and methodologies
