About us

Yellow Card is the largest and first licensed stablecoin-based infrastructure provider, operating in 20 African countries and the emerging markets. Our mission is to empower businesses of all sizes, making it easier for them to make international payments, protect their financial assets, manage their treasury function, and access hard currency liquidity.

We are creating “financial infrastructure that works” disrupting the financial services industry by offering innovative solutions designed to meet the distinct needs of – and real-world challenges faced on a daily basis by – our customers. Leveraging the power of stablecoins pegged 1:1 to the U.S. dollar (e.g. USDC, USDT, and PYUSD), we deliver our innovative solutions through our commercial trading function, our B2B products (i.e. our Payments API and “widget”), and our retail and small business platform.

This role is focused on ensuring all newly opened bank accounts across the Yellow Card ecosystem are tested, verified, and fully operationalised before they go live. The successful candidate will act as a project manager — coordinating with internal stakeholders, tracking progress across multiple testing stages, and ensuring all technical and operational steps are completed. You will own the bank account activation process end-to-end, maintaining checklists, performing validation tests (such as inbound/outbound payments and FX conversions), and ensuring readiness for production use. Attention to detail, structured thinking, and strong communication skills are key to succeeding in this role.

Key responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to.

  • Coordinate and manage the bank account testing and go-live process across multiple banking partners and jurisdictions.
  • Maintain a comprehensive testing checklist to ensure every account meets internal and external requirements before becoming operational.
  • Conduct and validate payment flow tests, including inbound, outbound, and cross-currency transactions.
  • Work closely with the Treasury, Finance, Commercial, and Operational teams to troubleshoot issues and confirm technical integrations (e.g., account connectivity, APIs).
  • Track the progress of each account through all operational readiness steps and escalate delays or blockers to the relevant teams.
  • Document and report on testing outcomes, including failed tests and remediation actions.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and AML/KYC procedures throughout the testing and activation process.
  • Continuously improve and streamline the bank account onboarding and testing framework for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Create monthly dashboards and data to present to management on statistics of bank accounts opened, taken to live, blockers, and areas for improvement
  • Weekly updates and statistics to wider teams around bank accounts operationalized and key blockers and items needed to get accounts active faster and achieve better turnaround times
  • Maintain updated documentation and SOPs related to account testing and activation.
  • Communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders on progress, issues, and resolutions.
  • Proactively identify gaps in the operationalisation process and propose improvements.
  • Uphold confidentiality and security standards in handling financial data.

Requirements

  • Experience in payments operations, treasury, or financial operations, with a focus on banking systems.
  • Strong understanding of banking and payment systems, including cross-border and local payments. (preferred)
  • Experience working with foreign currencies and performing FX or liquidity-related processes (preferred)
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to track and close out multiple workstreams.
  • Basic proficiency in Google Sheets or Excel for process tracking and reporting.
  • Good understanding of virtual assets and how they integrate with fiat banking systems (preferred).
