Software engineer, agents (UK)

WRITER is a company that is leading in enterprise generative AI. We're seeking a highly skilled fullstack software engineer to join our engineering team building advanced AI-driven agent systems.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong proficiency in Python in production environments
• Proficiency in native agentic coding, demonstrated through the daily use of tools like Cursor, Claude Code, and other agentic coding platforms
• Experience building distributed systems, microservices, or complex backend APIs that support AI/agent workflows
• Solid expertise with systems that integrate AI models, agent frameworks, vector databases, and large context reasoning services
• Understanding of agent orchestration patterns, state management, and asynchronous workflows
• Experience with cloud platforms, containerization, and operational engineering best practices
• Good grasp of performance optimization, testing frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
