Head of IT (m/f/d)

ATMOS Space Cargo is seeking a Head of IT to build, run, and continuously improve our internal IT environment in a fast-paced space start‑up. In this role, you will ensure that our teams have secure, reliable, and scalable IT systems in place across office, engineering, and operational environments. You will combine strategic ownership with hands‑on execution and play a key role in enabling the company’s growth through robust IT operations, strong cybersecurity, and pragmatic process design.

Key responsibilities

• You will own and develop ATMOS’ internal IT operations, including infrastructure, workplace IT, user support, and core business systems
• You will define and implement a scalable IT roadmap aligned with the company’s growth, operational priorities, and security requirements
• You will ensure a reliable and high-availability IT environment across office, lab, and engineering‑related setups
• You will lead the administration and continuous improvement of digital workplace tools, collaboration platforms, identity and access management, and endpoint management
• You will take ownership of IT security topics, including policies, access controls, device security, risk mitigation, and awareness measures
• You will coordinate internal IT services and external vendors to ensure high‑quality support and efficient issue resolution
• You will establish and improve IT processes, documentation, service levels, and governance with a pragmatic and business‑oriented mindset
• You will monitor IT performance, identify risks and bottlenecks early, and drive sustainable solutions
• You will support onboarding and offboarding processes from an IT perspective, ensuring smooth and secure employee lifecycle management

Profile required

• You have a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• You have several years of professional experience in IT operations, systems administration, IT infrastructure, or a comparable hands‑on IT leadership role
• You bring solid experience across workplace IT, cloud‑based collaboration tools, user support, endpoint management, and IT security
• You have a strong hands‑on mentality and are comfortable switching between strategic planning and operational execution
• You are experienced in structuring IT processes and building scalable, service‑oriented internal IT environments
• You have a pragmatic approach to problem‑solving and know how to prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment
• You have strong written and spoken English skills; German is a strong plus
• You are motivated by working in a mission‑driven, fast‑growing environment and have an interest in the space industry
