The Principal Project Quality Engineer will perform a variety of quality assurance duties to ensure Westinghouse processes, products and services meet quality (regulatory, statutory) and technical requirements defined by Westinghouse. Working with experienced quality professionals, this Project Quality role will perform activities including, but not limited to, project quality assurance support and oversight, supporting quality management system activities, gathering material to support internal or customer audits, regulatory inspections, operating experience data gathering and distribution, and corrective action issue data gathering, analysis and resolution. Provide quality assurance inputs for bids and proposals including cost estimates; support multiple project organizations; and oversee deliveries of services, products and systems of significant scope, associated with both international and domestic AP1000 and AP300 projects.

Your Day to Day:
- Drive safe, error free performance through active use and promotion of Human Performance tools and organizational learning.
- Promote, nurture, and assure a mature and healthy Nuclear Safety Culture and Safety Conscious Work Environment across all the Business Unit locations.Maintain compliance with the Westinghouse Quality Management System for all project phases (bid, plan, execution and closure) compliance for AP1000 and AP300 projects.
- Assist with the development and implementation of Quality policies, procedures, and plans in accordance with customer requirements, applicable standards, and government regulations to ensure compliance.
- Communicate and implement quality assurance best practices through continuous improvement.
- Ensure effective change management, keeping clear and open lines of communication with other Quality organizations, leadership, regulatory agencies, customers, and suppliers, as appropriate.
- Interface with other intercompany Quality organizations to ensure compliance, process consistency and to share best practices and lessons learned.
- Identify and direct corrective actions for successful resolution of project issues.
- Communicate changes in departmental QA procedures, plans and programs.
- Conduct internal audits and self-assessments to ensure compliance with applicable quality assurance programs, codes/standards and regulations. Write follow up reports and recommend actions to resolve QA issues.
- Represent Westinghouse and provide input during external QA audits conducted by customers, government agencies, etc. Write audit response and follow up with impacted organizations to ensure that all corrective actions have been taken. Integrate audit results into existing QA plans/programs by developing and implementing new procedures.
Who You Are:
- Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline or technical area
- 10 or more years of quality assurance experience required in positions of increasing responsibility
- Working knowledge of U.S. commercial nuclear power regulations, e.g., 10CFR50 Appendix B, ASME NQA-1, ASME B&PV Code, ANSI, 10CFR21, and comparable international regulations and standards including ISO 9001 and ISO 19443 is preferred.
- Experience in the application of Nuclear Safety Culture and Human Performance principles
- Knowledge of engineering, manufacturing, fabrication and testing work processes, general business acumen.
- Broad knowledge of nuclear quality assurance regulations, codes, and standards.
- Ability to travel domestic and internationally 10%.
