Why this role matters

The Support Engineering team takes care of critical applications which enable teams to do important changes to customer accounts and Vonage communication platform. In addition, we are developing a brand new micro frontend platform for customers of Vonage.

The team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help us build new features in our applications. In addition to hands-on development, the ideal candidate will be involved in design of the application, and mentoring junior engineers.

What you will do

  • Contribute to the implementation of new features in our microfrontend platform.
  • Migrate and enhance existing business features out of our old platform.
  • Design and Improve existing APIs and microservices based on product requirements
  • Maintain existing legacy Backend Systems.
  • Set high standards to ensure the delivery of secure, high quality, well-tested and scalable. software to meet customer and business requirements.
  • Full Software Development Lifecycle from requirements to deployment and operation in production.

What you will bring:

  • 7+ years of Development Experience.
  • Strong technical skills in a backend programming environment (Java/Python)
  • Strong Front end development experience with one of the SPA frameworks (React/Angular/Vuejs)
  • Experience with design patterns and designing complex systems
  • Experience with Relational databases.
  • Cloud experience (ideally AWS).
  • Ability to pick up new software, frameworks and APIs quickly.
  • Understanding of monitoring, systems provisioning, HTTP etc.
  • Strong focus on Testing.
  • Entrepreneur Mindset.`
