Job Description:
Job Summary
We are looking for a driven and entrepreneurial M&A AI & Technology Lead to join our India Corporate Development team. This is a newly created role that sits at the intersection of artificial intelligence, technology, and M&A — purpose-built to help Volaris India become one of the most data-driven and AI-enabled acquisition teams in the industry.
You will work closely with the CD Director, Portfolio Manager, and the broader M&A team to identify, design, and deploy AI-powered tools and workflows that dramatically improve how we source targets, conduct research, score companies, engage founders, and execute transactions. You will own the technology layer of our M&A function end-to-end — from building agentic research pipelines to automating deal tracking and post-LOI diligence support.
This is a rare opportunity to shape how a globally scaled acquirer — backed by Constellation Software — uses AI in one of the world’s fastest-growing software markets. If you are deeply technical, intellectually curious, and excited by the idea of making a permanent mark on how M&A gets done, this role was built for you.
Key Responsibilities
AI Tool Development & Deployment
- Design, build, and maintain AI-powered tools that enhance the productivity of the M&A team across the full deal lifecycle — from initial sourcing through LOI and close
- Build agentic research workflows that automate market mapping, target identification, and company intelligence gathering for Indian vertical market software businesses
- Deploy LLM-based systems for first-pass scoring and qualification of acquisition targets against Volaris’s investment criteria
- Develop AI-assisted outreach and engagement tools that help the team personalize founder communications at scale
- Create automated pipelines for enriching CRM data (Salesforce) with financial, operational, and competitive intelligence from public and proprietary sources
M&A Process & Execution Support
- Partner with the CD team to identify manual, high-effort workflows across sourcing, diligence, and deal execution that are prime candidates for AI automation
- Build structured diligence frameworks and AI-assisted templates that accelerate due diligence data gathering and analysis
- Support deal modeling and analysis by building tools that synthesize company financial data into structured formats for the M&A team
- Maintain and improve a proprietary market intelligence database of Indian VMS companies, ownership structures, and deal histories
AI Strategy & Continuous Improvement
- Stay at the leading edge of applied AI — evaluating new models, tools, and platforms (LLMs, RAG pipelines, agentic frameworks) for applicability to the M&A context
- Build an AI capability roadmap for Volaris India’s CD function in collaboration with the CD Director, and share learnings with the global Volaris M&A community
- Train and support the broader CD team in effectively using AI tools in their day-to-day workflows
- Define and track key metrics (time saved, pipeline velocity, data quality improvements) to measure the impact of AI initiatives
Skills You Will Bring
We are looking for someone who is equal parts technologist and business thinker — someone who can build sophisticated AI systems and also deeply understand why a founder’s business matters. You thrive in ambiguity, move fast, and are energized by building things from scratch.
Technical & AI
- Deep hands-on experience with large language models (LLMs), prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and agentic workflow frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, or equivalent)
- Strong proficiency in Python; comfortable building and deploying data pipelines, APIs, and automation scripts
- Experience with AI application development platforms (e.g., Anthropic Claude API, OpenAI API, Google Gemini, or similar)
- Familiarity with web scraping, structured data extraction, and working with unstructured text at scale
- Experience integrating AI tools with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) and business productivity tools
- Knowledge of data storage, vector databases, and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) is an asset
Business & M&A Acumen
- Strong understanding of corporate development, M&A processes, and the software industry — particularly vertical market software
- Ability to translate complex M&A workflows into structured, automatable processes
- Comfort reading and interpreting financial statements, cap tables, and deal structures
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to operate effectively with ambiguous or incomplete data
Communication & Collaboration
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English; able to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- High degree of professional integrity and discretion — this role involves access to highly confidential deal information
- Ability to work autonomously and in a collaborative, globally distributed team environment
- Strong time management and project ownership skills
Education & Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field; advanced degree or MBA is an asset
- 3–7 years of professional experience, including meaningful hands-on work in AI/ML application development
- Prior exposure to M&A, investment banking, private equity, venture capital, or a corporate development function is a strong asset
- Demonstrated portfolio of AI tools, applications, or automation workflows built and deployed in a professional context
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint); strong data visualization skills a plus
- Experience working in or with the Indian software industry is considered an asset
