Job Summary:

The Role

The Finance Associate is responsible for managing a full range of general accounting and financial activities for the Irish entity — audit, tax and VAT returns, credit and collections, payroll, regular monthly and quarterly financial reconciliations and reporting, financial integrity and compliance activities.. The role reports to the General Manager in Poland, with a dotted-line report to the Group Finance Director in Canada.

Job Description:

Essential Functions

• Day‑to‑day processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and employee expense reports.
• Daily transaction oversight and preparation of bank reconciliations.
• End‑to‑end payroll administration for employees in Ireland and Poland.
• Preparation, filing, and payment of VAT returns and all associated tax remittances.
• Execution of monthly and quarterly close activities, including journals, accruals, prepayments, and deferred revenue adjustments.
• Reconciliation of key balance sheet accounts such as Cash, WIP, Fixed Assets, Intercompany Balances, Accrued Liabilities, and other relevant accounts.
• Recording, analyzing, and reporting of accounting transactions to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with applicable accounting standards and internal policies.
• Monthly preparation and upload of account reconciliations into the BlackLine system.
• Support for annual audit processes and coordination with external auditors and accounting firms.
• Assistance with internal control reviews, risk assessments, and process improvement initiatives.
• Preparation and analysis of statutory accounts, financial statements, and regulatory reports.
• Documentation and support of accounting‑related projects and process updates.
• Ad hoc financial analysis and support to the broader finance team as needed.

We’re seeking someone who can serve as a genuine finance partner to the General Manager — someone who takes full ownership of day‑to‑day accounting activities and can be relied upon to keep financial operations running smoothly and accurately. Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in a finance, accounts, or bookkeeping role
• Strong attention to detail and comfort working to strict monthly close deadlines
• Demonstrated experience preparing VAT returns and processing payroll
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and take ownership of deliverables
• Legally authorized to work in Ireland ( visa sponsorship is not available)
• A qualification in accounting, finance, or business is preferred ; equivalent experience will be considered
• Familiarity with IFRS accounting standards, in particular IFRS 15 (Revenue) and IFRS 16 (Leases)

Nice to Have

• Experience with Great Plains, Blackline, NetSuite ERP, or OneStream
• Experience with Sage or Sage Payroll
• Background in software, SaaS, or retail industries
