View company profile

Verra Mobility's journey began with a focus on making transportation safer and easier. Initially known as American Traffic Solutions (ATS), the company established itself as a key player in traffic safety. The evolution into Verra Mobility marked a strategic shift to encompass a broader spectrum of smart mobility solutions. This rebranding, announced in June 2018, signified the company's ambition to move beyond just traffic enforcement and to position itself at the center of the rapidly growing smart mobility ecosystem. The name 'Verra' itself was chosen to connote truth ('ver') and the global scale of its impact ('terra'), reflecting a commitment to transparency and a worldwide reach in the mobility landscape.

The company's growth trajectory has been characterized by strategic acquisitions and an expansion of its service offerings. A significant step was becoming a publicly traded company on Nasdaq (VRRM) in October 2018, which provided a platform for further expansion and investment in innovation. Key acquisitions, such as Redflex in June 2021, bolstered Verra Mobility's automated safety enforcement solutions and extended its presence into Europe and Australia. Later that year, in December 2021, the acquisition of T2 Systems marked Verra Mobility's entry into the parking solutions market, diversifying its portfolio to include parking hardware, software, and services for a variety of clients like universities and municipalities. This series of strategic moves has transformed Verra Mobility from a traffic solutions provider into a comprehensive smart mobility technology company, addressing complex challenges in tolling, violation management, safety, and parking for commercial fleets, government agencies, and other customers globally. Today, Verra Mobility continues to innovate, leveraging data and technology to create safer, smarter, and more connected transportation experiences for communities and businesses around the world.
