POSITION SUMMARY
The Sr. Product Manager will be responsible for leading key product initiatives, including innovative new features and technological advancements that provide competitive differentiation and respond to our customers needs. He/She will ensure achievement of strategic revenue objectives for a specific product value stream or product family. By engaging continuously with our customers and through analysis and research, the Sr. Product Manager will drive a product roadmap to create value-driven solutions and features. This position is involved with the product throughout all stages of the life cycle (conception, definition, development, release, and post-release activities) and drives product strategy, product planning and marketing execution. The Sr. Product Manager will work with the Director of Product, in addition to Executive Management, to recommend, analyze, and prioritize future product investments.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works closely with product development to realistically differentiate the product or product family
- Research and understand market trends, customer needs, and competitors
- Holistic product lifecycle management from conception and strategic planning through requirements definition, development, release, and post-release customer and channel support and satisfaction
- Development, review, and maintenance of a multi-year roadmap
- Development, analysis, and sharing of key business and customer satisfaction metrics for your product area(s)
- Close collaboration with Marketing and Sales to drive pricing and positioning for your product(s)
- High level of focus on the end-to-end customer experience collaborating with UI/UX team
- Manage beta and pilot programs with early-stage products and samples
- Ensure products meets business and customer expectations within acceptable time frames
- Conduct periodic business reviews with senior management
- Create effective cross-functional relationships at all levels of the organization
- Customer advocacy and evangelism
- Research and proposal of new business and product opportunities to senior management
- Support Sales and other customer-facing teams with product-related training, education, and communications
- Act as the "mini CEO" of your product, taking responsibility for the success of all business and technical aspects of your product(s), working closely with other teams as necessary
- Directs creation of launch materials and assists in new product release
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, sales, marketing or engineering, or related field (MBA Preferred)
- 5+ years of product management experience with Enterprise software development knowledge/background
- Combination of both technical and business acumen
- Strong strategic thinking and decision-making abilities
- Demonstrated success defining, launching, and maintaining successful products
- Data-driven approach with strong logical and cross-group collaboration skills to bring the organization to consensus on decisions on both short and long-term product plans
- Excellent written and oral communication skills - product documentation must be detailed, thorough, and complete
- Deep understanding of product management best practices in Agile software development
- Must be able to understand technical concepts and architectural diagrams
- Proactive approach and can anticipate and addresses issue and needs
- Proven ability to work cross functionally to achieve overall business goals
- Strong drive for product ownership across all facets of the product(s)
- Ability to operate with limited supervision
- Strong oral and written skills
- Must be able to work collaboratively within a team and across disciplines
