Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: The Director - Business Process Improvement is responsible for driving Shared Services and select enterprise-wide initatives that enhance organizational effectiveness, operational efficiency, and long-term business resilience. This role oversees special projects, business continuity planning, and opportunity tracking to ensure the organization consistently delivers our mission, vision, and goals. Acting as a thought partner with business line leadership, the Director - Business Process Improvement will identify opportunities for improvement, streamline processes, and ensure that business operations are aligned with organizational strategy.

The base pay estimate for this role is $107,700 - $183,100 annually. The final offer will depend on the skills, experience, and qualifications of the selected candidate. This range is for base pay only and does not include bonuses or other compensation. This position is eligible for an annual bonus. Bonuses are not guaranteed and are awarded based on individual and company performance.

Job Highlights

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation)

  • Partners with the VP – Strategic Initiatives to provide executive oversight for the development, governance, and ongoing maintenance of the organization’s business continuity plans.
  • Establishes and coordinates enterprise-wide business continuity strategies across departments to ensure organizational resilience and preparedness for disruptions.
  • Leads and sponsors tabletop exercises to test and validate functional business continuity strategies and strengthen executive and leader readiness.
  • Provides ongoing tracking and reporting of business continuity progress and risk exposure, including identification of vulnerabilities and mitigation priorities.
  • Sets direction for the design, evaluation, and implementation of enterprise business process improvement initiatives across functions.
  • Partners with stakeholders to identify systemic pain points, inefficiencies, and opportunities for standardization and scalability.
  • Collaborates with the Analytics team to define and implement tools, metrics, and dashboards that monitor process performance, outcomes, and value realization.
  • Champions and embeds a culture of continuous improvement through enterprise training, communication, and adoption of best practices.
  • Sponsors and leads Lean initiatives, including Kaizen events and Value Stream Mapping, where appropriate.
  • Applies advanced change management and Lean expertise to determine when and how to deploy methodologies to drive sustainable adoption.
  • Provides executive sponsorship and end-to-end leadership for high-priority, cross-functional, and enterprise initiatives.
  • Partners with business unit leaders to define project vision, goals, scope, charters, and success criteria, ensuring alignment and accountability.
  • Oversees risk management, resource allocation, and delivery progress, providing regular executive-level reporting to executive leadership.
  • Ensures strong alignment between initiative outcomes and enterprise strategic objectives.
  • Partners with Shared Services leadership to govern, track, and evolve the strategic roadmap.
  • Oversees the maintenance, enhancement, and scalability of applications supporting critical organizational activities.
  • Supports executive leadership team in aligning resources, timelines, ownership, and accountability with strategic priorities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES (KSAs):

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience at management level or above for staff or functional/project oversight and implementation.
  • Project Management Certification preferred.
  • Experience in implementation of project management methodologies from project scope development, planning, execution, monitoring and tracking project to planned timeline and budget.
  • Experience in assessing feasibility of proposals for strategic initiatives, developing business plans and assessment.
  • Ability to exercise planning, organization, and follow-through skills to effectively complete assignments. Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Excellent internal and external customer service skills by being tactful, helpful, and diplomatic and participate as a team member and deal effectively with other team members and customers.
